Great post Chrissy – welcome to SEO!

I made a similar move a few years ago and have never looked back. I wrote about it on Moz at the time – http://www.seomoz.org/ugc/notes-from-a-newbie-from-pr-to-seo I certainly echo the thoughts on the social media measurement- i said the same thing in my post 2 years ago and though things are definitely improving it’s still a tough nut to crack

Anyway, buckle up, you’re in for a great ride and good luck in your SEO forays!

Great post Chrissy! Valid points…especially about Nuns providing MLA training.

Hey Tom, thanks for the warm welcomes and amazing first comment in my SEO debut! Your blog post is exactly how I am feeling at the current moment. Definitely seeing the similarities and trying to use what I know to help grow here. It’s comforting to know someone else came from a similar background.

    Thanks again Tom!

Thanks Tony! Those nuns were relentless about the MLA training and I have yet to use it in my professional life. A lot of wasted note cards that’s for sure.

“Those ‘crappy sites’ I used to bounce from only seconds after clicking on them – apparently they aren’t so bad after all. Just because it is aesthetically displeasing doesn’t mean that site isn’t valuable in the eyes of an SEO professional.”

    – Tell that to Rand. :)
