Will Adwords actually track this?

User clicks an ad -> then goes to website -> clicks buy button and is taken to the Paypal website at this point, before they go to the thank you (action page) they are off our site and Paypal is a 3rd party - so how does Adwords Conversion know that when they land back on our Action Page (thank you, download, etc type page) to record the correct keyword that was clicked and all the other data?

It's like Paypal is a wall and therefore blocks the smooth line of data from clicking the ad to tracking the conversion.

Thoughts? Thanks.
