My main is the patience and using variety of link building techniques really. You have to present a wide range of options, types of content, types of campaigns – and the client will help you realise which ones will be harder to push through compliance.

Make the client aware of how important approvals are and the timing of them for the general campaign.

And yes you’re right – legal teams very often don’t know anything about SEO. It’s extremely important to not use jargon and be clear and use terms they understand.

Yes, good point about presenting a variety of strategies! Thanks!

I’ve done a lot of work in a regulated industry, with a very strict compliance team. It’s definitely a challenge when some competitors seemingly have no compliance department.

The best advice I can give is to put a lot of focus on content creation and link building towards your ‘least strict’ product categories, if such a thing exists for your company.
